As of 1st January 2010, the Malta Maritime Authority (MMA) ceased to exist and its functions have been absorbed by the newly created Malta Transport Authority (MTA); which in effect incorporates land-based transport, air travel and maritime services under one umbrella. Mark Portelli, former chairman of MMA, was appointed chairman of the 10-strong board of directors of the new authority. One of the four supervisory committees within the authority will focus solely on maritime affairs. A new web-site has been set-up which can be accessed at the following link www.transport.gov.mt and email addresses changed accordingly.

Here at GM International Services Ltd. we pride ourselves on our ability to change with the times, all the while aware of the teething problems that naturally arise in times of transition.  Therefore, we would like to reaffirm our commitment to providing services of the highest quality and would like to ensure everyone that all necessary information and documents can be downloaded from our website should any problems arise with the new MTA website.  We are also doubling our efforts to ensure minimal breakdowns in communication between all interested parties and the Malta Transport Authority.

As always, this is inline with GM International Services Ltd’s policy of providing a constant and efficient service, allowing our clients to focus on their core business.
