Circular Letter - Various Topics
22/01/99

Valletta - 22 January, 1999

First of all we would like to wish you, your families and all your staff the very best for 1999.

May we inform you that with immediate effect, the shareholders’ and directors’ details are no longer a main requisite when registering vessels. Furthermore we would like to remind you that new application forms (click here to view a copy) for the registration of vessels have come into force and are already being used by the Malta Maritime Authority. Apart from the usual requirements to renew the Certificate of Malta Registry, the local authorities are now also requesting a copy of a valid radio licence. As in the case of all the other requisites, unless the licence is submitted, the renewal will not be issued.

With effect from this month, our office will be sending the original radio licence instead of a certified true copy. This may now be done as the wireless department are not requesting the original licence when amending or renewing same. At this point, the certification fee of Lm5 will no longer be required, however due to the increase in overheads, our office fee will be Lm10. As in the case of annual fees for vessel registration, we shall be debiting you with the fee for one year a month prior to the expiry date. Subsequently, if the validity of the licence will be for more than one year, then the difference in price will be debited the following month.

As usual we are listing the public holidays which fall during the current year. May we remind you that should you require our services on these dates, you are kindly asked to advise us beforehand so as we can make the necessary arrangements:
