Maltese Registered Vessel in Agean Sea Collision

The Maltese registered vessel MARTI PRINCESS collided with the German registered vessel the RENATE SCHULTE in the Dardanelles last Saturday. A spokesman for the Malta Maritime Authority reportedly said that after the incident, water flooded the cargo holds of the cargo ship which was carrying cement. No one was injured and the 13 crew members have been evacuated as a precautionary measure while the necessary evaluations are being carried out. The two cargo ships were separated yesterday without any further repercussions and no pollution has been reported so far.
